Innovation and performance into statement-making architecture, Be Open

Be Open, office block A11 on Avenue Pierre Mendès France in the Austerlitz neighbourhood of the Paris Rive Gauche integrated development zone, overhangs the railtracks on the approach to the station.

The building structure is a metal frame composed of aluminium tubing and springs. This architecture makes for a new figurehead, an innovative shape-shifting design where the facade plays with light and shadow, redefining its forms as the day goes by.

The project program counts 8700 m² of office space with 600 m² of commercial space on the ground floor, where the facade design optimizes the light pulled into the building. The 866 Solozip facade awnings by Griesser are engineered with an extremely wind-resistant fabric that shields workspace areas from the heat of the summer sun, providing excellent sunshading for occupants. At the same time, they offer good outward visibility, enabling users to enjoy an exceptional environment all year round.

This implementation of Griesser’s Solozip fabric facade awnings, which the architects purpose-selected for the project, effortlessly meets the program’s thermal and visual comfort needs.
